This direct sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog featured One of the game’s most revolutionary features with its “lock-on technology”, which allowed players to connect the cartridge with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to create the expanded experience known as Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This innovation unlocked new levels, story elements, and character options, making it a must-play for fans of retro gaming.

In this addition to our game genie hijinx series we are going to look at the 1993 classic Star Fox, or “Starwing” as you may know it in the PAL regions. This game was super popular and sold over a whopping 4 million copies, not bad! By the way, the reason for the PAL name change was due to a German company being called StarVox which was considered too similar since in German the letter V is usually pronounced as an F. So there is a bit of trivia to start us off!

So in this
addition of our Game Genie Hijinx series we are going to take a look at one of
the Super Nintendo’s most popular games, or at least a variation of it, Street
Fighter 2 Turbo! Why the Turbo version? Well it is quite confusing as to which
the original game was as there are like 3 or 4 versions for the SNES and that
isn’t including region differences or hacks! So Turbo it is! I may cover the
original Street Fighter II: The World Warrior one day but today we are going
into hyper mode!
